Custom Home Building With Setter Construction
Stage 1: Pre-Construction & Solution Design
The Foundation of the Vision. Before a shovel hits the dirt, we define the roadmap. This is where we identify your lot’s unique challenges in the New River Valley, develop engineering-approved plans, and secure permits.
Key Milestone: Finalizing the fixed-price investment roadmap.
Stage 2: Site Work & Foundation
Preparing the Canvas. We clear, grade, and stake the lot. Whether we are pouring a slab or building basement walls, we prioritize drainage and structural integrity to ensure your home sits perfectly on the Virginia topography.
Stage 3: Framing & Roofing
The Skeleton of the Home. This is the first look at the home’s scale. We build the walls and floors, then "dry-in" the house with zip OSB, roofing, windows, and exterior doors to protect the structure from the elements.
Stage 4: Rough-Ins & Performance Systems
While the walls are open, we install the HVAC ductwork, plumbing lines, and electrical wiring. We don't move to the next step until every system passes a rigorous rough-in inspection.
Stage 5: Exterior Finishes
Defining the Curb Appeal. We install your siding, stone, or brickwork. This stage is about the details—completing the soffits and fascia, painting, and installing gutter drainage and sconces to define the home's exterior character.
Stage 6: Interior Finishes & Artisanal Detail
Where Craft Meets Comfort. This is our favorite stage. After drywall is hung and primed, our in-house carpentry team installs the "neat trim details"—the custom baseboards, interior doors, and cabinets that make your home unique. We finish with flooring, fixtures, and appliances.
Stage 7: Final Touches & Closeout
The Handover. We perform a deep clean and final landscaping (seed and straw). We then walk through every inch of the home with you to ensure every detail meets our standard before final paperwork and move-in.
